The Outback

Friday Sept 24, 2011 Ron and I took a little trip out in the country. As soon as you leave Orange you are out in the country, or what they call the Outback. We were looking for a good place to take a family we know on a picnic.

We saw fields of horses

fields with cows

lots of fields of sheep

three little lambs have lost their way, ba ba ba

(they were out on the road)

Ducks flying into a small pond

AND FINALLY!!! YA HOO, WE SAW SOME KANGAOOS!!

a whole mob of them

This Big fella was out hitchen for a ride

Notice the roads while you're at it.

This is what we travel a lot.

No we never found a picnic place going this direction.

We were only 20 k (12 miles) from Orange, that is how close the kangaroos are.

Kara said...: The trees along the river by Rigby always remind me of Australia. Did you think that too? Watch out for those kangaroos, they are ornery. I was at a kangaroo refuge over there and tried to dole out the peanuts I had, a little to each kangaroo ... well, one of them wanted the whole bag. He raised up and used his front paws to slam me to the ground then snatched the bag away with a glare. Not worth $46 bucks for sure :) - Kara; November 21, 2011 at 9:47 AM

We are serving in the Sydney Australia Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

We will be sharing the message that the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in these latter days. That in the spring of 1820, a teen age boy named Joseph Smith was searching for the true church of Jesus Christ. He attended many of the churches in his area and was not finding answers to his questions.

One day he was reading in James chapter 1 verse 5 “If any of ye lack wisdom, let him ask of God” After reading this, he determined to do just that and going into a grove of trees near his home, he knelt down in prayer. He at that time received a vision of God the Father and his son, Jesus Christ. He was told that none of the churches upon the earth at that time contained the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ but if he remained faithful, he could be instrumental in the restoration of the fullness of the gospel which would include the restoration of the Priesthood of God that Christ had ordained his Apostles with.

A few years later, he was given the records of the people on this continent which he translated by the power of God. Among other things, they contained the account of Christ's visit to this continent after his resurrection. The records had been gathered and compiled by a prophet named Mormon and hid up until they were given to Joseph Smith in 1829.

In the spring of 1830, he was instructed to organize the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which name was given by revelation.
